The Hotel

History

The Penmorvah Manor Hotel, originally named Penmorvah House, has an extremely rich and varied history. It was built in 1872 among six acres, with stables and outbuildings, on land that had previously been owned by the highly influential and wealthy Fox family.

During the war years it was owned by a Colonel Boyd and his wife and later it was run as a children's home.

It was a Country Club in the 60's but has been run as a Hotel for 20 years by the present owners Cheryl and Peter Risely.

In 1991 a further 20 bedrooms were added to the original house and recently the stables and outbuildings have been converted into stunning 4 star self catering cottages.
