Cornwall Gardens

We're very fond of our local gardens, and are always happy to point our guests in the direction of the most beautiful, spectacular or unusual examples. There are many to see, but here are just two which are on our doorstep.

Penjerrick Gardens

Whatever the time of year, Penjerrick gardens promise a beautiful and wild fifteen acre array, with their own rhododendron species, the Penjerrick Cream and Barclayi hybrid. Penjerrick also boasts the second largest beech tree in England. And did we mention that the gardens are just across the road from the hotel? So don't miss out, take a leisurely stroll – and we ought to say too that wellies may be necessary! Visit Site

Trebah Gardens

Planted in the 1830s, these wonderful gardens have quite a chequered history. After a hundred years of inspired creation, forty years of neglect followed, after which they were once again lovingly restored. Trebah is a wooded ravine garden of 25 acres, just a short way from the eighteenth-century house and beach on the Helford River. The garden features huge tropical ferns, rhododendrons, azaleas and an ever-colourful array of trees and shrubs, providing something special in all seasons. Visit Site
